Legacy Property is undertaking the rezoning of 146 hectares of semi-rural land at Orchard Hills, situated some 50km west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Penrith. This project has the potential to deliver approximately 1,800 dwellings.
Legacy Property submitted a Planning Proposal in March 2018 to rezone the site, this was endorsed by Penrith City Council in June 2018 and received a Gateway Determination from the Department of Planning and Environment in February 2019. Rezoning reports and plans were developed over 2019 and are continuing throughout 2020. Rezoning is expected in mid-2021, with construction scheduled to commence in early 2022.
In addition to providing approximately 1,800 dwellings comprising a broad diversity of housing types, the project will also include a neighbourhood retail centre, a new primary school, playing fields, major green corridor, lake and local parks to create an exceptional level of amenity for future residents.
